Karina & Shawn fused Mexican and Jamaican wedding traditions throughout their day. The couple started with a traditional Catholic mass at Our Lady of Sorrows, where the bride’s father is a Deacon. The groom wore a custom tailored suit while the bride stunned in her chic mermaid gown. After mass, guests reunited at Santa Barbara Historical Museum where Mariachis serenaded guests and Jamaican rum punch and margaritas were served. After a flavor-infused dinner of carne asada and adobada tacos, jerk chicken, oxtail, plantains, greens, rice and beans - guests were ready to get moving! Karina invited her mother to the dance floor for a surprise song, dedicated to her to kick off dancing for the evening. The DJ played a song the bride used to dance to with her family as a child and the crowd caught on to the infectious song quickly, joining them on the dance floor. The couple served Jamaican rum cake and marble cake for dessert, as well as having churros cooked-to-order for guests. The string lights twinkled in the warm, summer night as Karina & Shawn were officially #ForeverForrester2017.
